Recently i have become very intrigued by this sleep paralysis phenomena i have only had it happen to me once since i tried to achieve it after i read a 9gag post about it. My experience was relatively positive. I kept falling through my bed and then fell asleep only to wake up but when i woke up and closed my eyes i would immediately fall through my bed again. I then woke up in the morning a little less rested than i had expected to be. Anyhow this is my dilemma, i have now heard about all the scary things that can happen to you during sleep paralysis and am worried that because of me knowing of these things(especially the old hag) i will see them. I really want to enjoy this phenomena, but i am terrified of getting stuck in a nightmare.

Thanks for the info. Still got a while before I can give it a go as i'm just struggling to recall dreams in the morning at the moment.
But i'll get back to you if i manage it.

Hey Joe,

Thanks for the question and comments.

To answer your first question, it is entirely possible to have a LD and imagine a real life situation in order to act it out or solve it. I have done this in the past and find it to be very therapeutic, although it can become a bit whimsical at times. It's hard to recreate every detail of waking life in the dream state (for example, gravity can be a bit tricky and get in the way of actual problem solving). I would say that abstract ideas can be solved more easily while lucid dreaming than concrete ideas can.

Give it a shot and let us know how it goes.

Love the site, really interesting stuff!
After looking through most of the articles here on lucid dreaming I was left wondering, (as a person who has not had proper experiences of lucid dreams, except on maybe one occasion), is it possible to consider real life situations during a lucid dream? For example, think about a certain problem you've been trying to work out, or consider something that has happend to you in real life.
This may seem like a pretty boring thing to spend a lucid dream doing and it will certainly not be at the top of my list when i'm able to lucid dream, but its just an intresting thought.
Hope you can enlighten me :)
Cheers

And thank you for the site. I'm very interested in learning more about making SP work for me.
